Introduction and Initial Ideas

For this assignment we have to create 10 postcards on the theme of souvenirs, we can either photograph our own souvenirs or other people with their souvenirs, however we can also use the postcards we create as the souvenir, by doing this it means we can take photos of anything we want.

I am going to be doing Unit 23: Photographic Media Techniques and Technology and Unit 32: Experimental Imagery in Photography in this assignment. The aim of these units is to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of the ways in which different media, techniques and technology contribute to the creation of imaginative photographs. It will promote the generation ideas and use photographic media, techniques and technology when creating photographs. It also aims to extend creative and technical skills in investigative approaches to manipulating photographic materials, processes, procedures and subject matter. Understanding of how photographic imagery can be manipulated and challenged is central to this investigation.

Initial Ideas

My initial ideas for this assignment are to photograph simple head shots of horses and also some field shots, by doing this there won't be too much detail in the images for the size I am going to produce. I will try and take some photos of the horses in the field with their rugs off if the weather is nice enough for me to do that, if not I will just take head/body shots without rugs on.

For the head shots I am going to have the horses with their bridles on because I think this makes them look smarter then if they just had their head collars on, I think it will also make my images look more profesional as a lot of photographers shoot their head shots with bridles on.
