Proposal

For this assignment I am going to be shooting field photos and also just plain head shots of horses, I am choosing to do this because although I very often photograph horses, it is what I want to do as a career so by photographing different aspects of the equine world in my different assignments I am building up a variety of different images that can be used in my portfolios/when looking for jobs/setting up a business.
I am going to be shooting these images on a Canon EOS 70D because I feel like it is more cost efficient to shoot on digital rather than film, however I may take a few photos on a disposable/instax camera and see how they turn out.
I am going to be creating images that would be seen on postcards, they will only be small images which mean they will not be able to have too much detail in them as it will be too much to look at. This is why I'm going to be creating field shots and just very simple head shots.
I will not need permission to photograph in my locations however I will need to get permission from the owners to take photos of their horses.
I am using my own cameras so I will not need to access any other equipment which means I will not have to worry about getting stuff on time/if they don't have any in stock/can't borrow any.
There aren't many risks for this assignment, I feel the main risk will be if its raining and my cameras get wet and break and I lose my images, to ensure this doesn't happen, I will try to avoid taking photographs in the rain however if the only time I can do a shoot is in the rain then I will try and avoid having my camera out for prolonged amounts of time or do the head shots inside the stables instead of out in the fields and then if it stops raining go out to the field.
I am going to be researching photographers who have made postcards from their images and I am also going to be researching equine photographers.
